Talk Hiring, Inc. (“Talk Hiring,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides mock interview software and related services for schools, students, and workforce development organizations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use Talk Hiring. It is designed to align with applicable U.S. privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”).

By using Talk Hiring, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. FERPA Compliance & Scope

Talk Hiring is committed to protecting student privacy. We operate as a service provider to schools and process student data only for educational purposes. All education records remain the property of the school or student.

  • --> We do not sell or rent student information.

  • --> We do not use student data for advertising or marketing.

  • --> We process student data only as directed by the school or student.

This Privacy Policy applies to Talk Hiring’s mock interview services, website, and any related products or services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to deliver and improve our services. This may include:

  • --> Interview responses: Student answers provided during mock interviews (spoken or typed).

  • --> Uploaded resumes: Students may upload resumes. Personally identifiable details (such as last names, phone numbers, addresses, or emails) are stored securely but not transmitted to AI providers.

  • --> Account information: Basic identifiers such as first name, username, login credentials, or school affiliation.

  • --> Technical information: Device type, browser, usage logs, IP address, cookies, and other diagnostic data.

  • --> Payment information (if applicable): Collected and processed by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe). Talk Hiring does not store full credit card numbers.

3. How We Use Information

We use information solely for educational purposes:

  • --> Delivering mock interviews and related features.

  • --> Generating interview feedback and reports for students and schools.

  • --> Supporting compliance with school and state requirements (such as Pennsylvania’s Artifact 339).

  • --> Providing customer support and improving product performance.

  • --> Processing payments, if applicable.


We do not use student data to build profiles for commercial purposes.

4. Use of AI Subprocessors

To deliver realistic interview simulations, Talk Hiring may use trusted third-party AI providers such as OpenAI and Google Gemini.

  • Only anonymized text is transmitted. Sensitive identifiers (emails, phone numbers, addresses) are never shared.

  • -->AI providers are contractually prohibited from training their models on Talk Hiring data.

  • --> Subprocessors process information solely to generate interview interactions and for no other purpose.


A current list of subprocessors is available upon request.

5. Sharing & Disclosure

We limit disclosure of information to specific, controlled circumstances:

  • --> With schools and authorized recipients: Student interview data and resumes are shared with the school or organization administering the program. Students may also choose to share information with employers or other third parties at their discretion.

  • --> With subprocessors and service providers: Such as AI providers, hosting providers, analytics vendors, and payment processors. All subprocessors are bound by contractual obligations to protect data.

  • --> For legal reasons: When required by law, regulation, court order, or government authority.

  • --> In business transfers: If Talk Hiring is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, student and school data will remain protected and continue to be governed by this Privacy Policy.

We never sell student information to third parties.

6. Data Ownership & Control

Schools and students always retain ownership of their data. Talk Hiring acts only as a processor on their behalf.

  • --> Schools may export student data at any time.

  • --> Schools may request deletion of data, which will be honored promptly.

  • Talk Hiring will not claim ownership of education records.


7. Data Retention & Deletion

Interview data is kept only as long as necessary to support educational purposes or as required by contract with the school.

  • --> Schools may set their own retention schedules.

  • --> Deletion requests are honored promptly.

  • Deleted data is permanently removed from active systems and backups within a commercially reasonable timeframe.


8. Security Measures

Talk Hiring implements reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect student data, including:

  • --> Encryption of data in transit and at rest.

  • --> Access controls to restrict access to authorized personnel.

  • --> Audit logs and monitoring to detect unauthorized activity.

While no system is perfectly secure, we continually work to strengthen protections.

9. Data Breach Response

Talk Hiring maintains an incident response plan consistent with industry best practices. In the event of a security breach affecting student information:

  • --> We will notify the affected school district within 72 hours of discovery, and sooner if possible.
  • --> Our notification will include the nature of the breach, the categories of data involved, and the steps being taken to mitigate risks.
  • --> We will cooperate fully with the affected district to support investigation, remediation, and compliance with applicable law.
  • Impacted data will be secured, restored, or deleted in accordance with the school’s instructions.



10. Children’s Privacy

Talk Hiring may be used by students under age 13 only with school or parental consent, as required by COPPA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without such consent.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will notify schools directly or post an updated version on our website with a revised “Effective Date.”
